I've just installed LiFe batteries in my planes. Voltage is 6.6 for two cells. Do I need a voltage regulator to power the receiver and the ignition?????????? The receiver is a Futaba 9 channel. The engine is a 120cc DA. Please help out.

Re: LiFe batteries.

You probably won't need a regulator to power your receiver/servos - most modern day receivers and servos can handle the voltage of an A123 or LiFe 2 cell pack. There are some older digital servos and specialty servos out there that are sensitive to voltages over 6.0volts - but they aren't very common.

DA also supports A123/LiFe unregulated on their ignitions - so that should be OK as well.

You may want to consider an IBEC (Ignition Battery Eliminator Circuit) to power your ignition. We have a few different versions available here - http://www.thunderboltrc.com/index.p...&cPath=189_192
