Thats pretty sweet looking...

for those of us that don't know anything about painting... how did you get the brush stroke look?? Did you just spread the paint with a brush??

Very nice indeed . I also noticed that towards the rear, the paint is not as shiny. How do you achieve that look? Paint the outside of the body ?

Nice work Brad!

I like how you kept the rear wing clear!

lol, i second that! but it looks like a brush stroke indeed. as for Monkey's question, i think its just black fading into grey.

i definately love the blending that looks like brush strokes! awesome stuff.

OK,
I started with the charcoal/graphite colour on the front. I sprayed from the cut line where it joins the red going towards the front.
I sprayed the width I wanted to achieve, but I had to spray it fairly fast so it did not have a chance to dry too much.
I then took some wet paper towel and wiped away some of the charcoal paint, wiping towards the rear of the truck.
After that dried, I sprayed the white.

Next I sprayed the charcoal in the back.

Then the area in the back that looks not shiney is actually Pactra Pearl Silver, and it is sprayed on the inside of the body.

Then I sprayed the black outlines around the windows.
Next was the red. I wiped with a wet paper towel, wiping towards the front of the truck. Then I applied the neon yellow.
After that I backed the red and yellow with white to make them POP a little more.

The rear wing is not quite clear. It actually has some charcoal and silver overspray along the top edge. I was not intentional, but it has a used dirty look to it that I thought looked cool.

The biggest pain was having to clean the airbrush in between every colour.
Thats about it
