Personal Transponders

Hey everyone,

In case you're looking to grab a personal transponder to run at the next race, it looks like the Hobby Stores are starting to stock them again. I was at Galaxy Hobbies, and he has 6 or 7 in stock at $119.99 + tax. If anyone else has seen them in stock at their LHS, please post here.

It might seem expensive, but anyone who runs the personal transponder will tell you that the convenience factor is huge plus. Also, they are much lighter, and permanently mounted in your car (if you have more than one car, you can swap b/w cars using velcro, which is what I do). Once your personal transponder is registered in the Sid's database, it is permanent, eliminating the need to re-assign a new transponder # at the beginning of each race.

Yes, this is the standard personal transponder - AMB manufactures them so that each one of them has their own unique 6 digit number that is the ONLY one in existence in the entire world!

The nice thing is that the AMB transponders can be used at any track. All of the tracks that I have seen use the AMB lap timing system.
The transponder numbers are unique.

All I can say is OH BOY! !

I kept hearing, "It will be worth the wait...".
It is true!

I had it at Sid's on Sunday for 20 laps (had to leave for a b-day party) and it was a blast to drive.
Since I was only running 2wd it will take some time to adjust to the new driving style. I learn fast about things I enjoy and it is safe to say I enjoy off road RC. I'll be getting in more track time before the big race on Sept. 30th.

Yes that is true. There is a guy on the www.rctech.net forum that can clone your trandsponder for you with the exact same number for like $ 65.00 US. Tha is if your looking for another one in case the other one breaks down.
