In need of opinion, which Gas in Sukhoi SU-31 120???
Hi guys..
My name is Mitch Brunette, Im from Sudbury Ontario, I attended the IMAA fly in at the 400 club in Cookstown last weekend, and I was lucky enough to win the plane that was being drawn, the plane was a Phoenix ARF Sukhoi SU-31 120, the kit calls for a .120 two stroke or four stroke, the span on it is 72 inches... I would like to put a gas engine in this one, also, i would like to have preformance to do some minimal 3D, for example in a hover/tourque roll, exit vertical, no problems... any suggestions???? Oh and also what prop should I be spinning? thanks for your time Mitch[/quote] |

MVVS 1.6 http://morrishobbies.com/product_inf...roducts_id=452 But a good saito 180 would really be the best bet. The gassers are just too heavy for that little plane.

Hey Mitch!
Peter Gordon here. I met you last year at Club 400. I had the yellow and white Edge. Seems to me that you won that plane last year too! Care to share that horseshoe??? A 120 is pretty small for a gas engine as posted above. I'd look at a Saito 180 (as already recommended) or you could try a Moki 1.8 or 2.10 as well. They'll be cheaper than a proper gas motor. I used a webra 120 in my Carl Goldberg Sukhoi with a 73" wingspan. It flew it great. I remember seeing a webra 120 on here for sale. Probably worth trying... Peter

Zenoah G26 would be a good bet for this plane . Not to big and decent power for the 120 size sukhoi.
