As stated by Mike in his post it was more then likely the "HC3-SX"

If all that technology worked as advertised, I would say this would be the best FBL system hands down.

I witnessed its flaws in person and on more then one occasion.

The tail would randomly kick out and at times and it would get confused with its orientation when using the bail out.

To each their own and we all have our FBL unit of choice. Personally I would not be putting this unit on any of my helicopters after seeing its flaws.

Cheers Keith

I guess every FBL system will have a problem, not one of them is perfect, if mine has an issue ill be sending it back for a new one / replacement.

I will get Mark / Randy to get it a test hover and see if the tail kicks out or does anything. They know how to recover with out going into panic mode, If it kicks out..

Re: Not a good day at the field :(

Mine flies fine on the 700E. However I did notice this.

While plugged in and initialized. Waiting to plug the motor in (but not yet) the system would twitch, motor also. Where the heck is the motor getting power from if it's not plugged in? Weird. I flew it anyway. It all went well.

power out of your fbl goes to the esc and its just enough to move the motor a little.

Re: Not a good day at the field :(

Please forgive a "new to helicopters" pilot, but what is a "bailout" feature Is it similar to a failsafe?

if you are flying and you loose orientation or something, you can press a button on the radio and with the HC3-SX's they will flip over or self level and push away from the ground. WORKS VERY VERY VERY WELL too !

i was doing tick tocks one day and then moved my tail and was practicing forward ticktocks lost orientation and the HC3 leveled and went up..

At my time it kept my heli inverted and went up, but if you are right side up it will also go up. You can set it to level and flip over or just level and push away from the ground.. best 500$ i have ever spent!

Re: Not a good day at the field :(

Sounds like an interesting feature, HC3, a couple of weeks ago my Titan (Nitro) pitched left when the engine quit, was lucky I had altitude to level and auto rotate it down safely. Believe my Governor malfunctioned (As engine runs fine, but the governor is obviously not regulating it), gotta hate those electrical malfunctions...

I wonder how the HC3 would do with a Nitro engine stall?

Tom
