I checked facebook and linkedin etc within hours of the realization. Non of which resulted in an Alberta address. Maybe someone from California??? The IP addresses lead to Cali, and one to Nigeria.
The Cali IP is from Sunnyvale, but I cant get his street address without a warrant. |

OK, what I don't understand is, if IP address is from outside Canada, then how were you able to do full EMT transaction!. As far as I know our EMTs only work within Canada with Canadian banks only.....unless rules have changed without us knowing....just wondering.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but EMT only works in Canada, so the dude needed a Canadian institution account to pull this off. If you go to Interacts website they list the banks that participate. so how does some dude from Cali get a Canadian bank account to cash my Money?? Me thinks he a Canadian Citizen doing a VPM spoof to California. kinda like how folks log into the US Netflix accounts from Canada. Its 2.99 a month or something to have a US IP address. Internet is a F'in" gong show these days.

So many good people in this hobby out there but you ran into the 0.01% that will take your $ and run.
With all the good people helping me out, just in friendship or knowledge. Even help gathering parts up for a plane. Because of them I'll throw in some money as well. Pay it forwards. Someone set it up and let us know...

WOW I missed the Sylas part of the name. I street viewed the address during the transaction and its a Canada Post office (I figured rural Alberta, must be normal). Retrospect another red flag was him telling me to let him know when the FedEx label was ready (I insisted this from the beginning because I have a 50% fedex discount through work), I goggled where he would drop it off and red deer was the closest location (30 mins away). I thought this was inconvenient but he never mentioned anything (another red flag). Funny for a disabled person to drive to Red Deer vice the local post office given in his address.
