I saw a show on things like this. They were experimenting with designs moving away from the normal cylindrical fuselage. The show that I watched, they actually had a r/c model of a flying wing prototype, with maybe an 8 ft wingspan.

BWB

They call this type of airplane BWB, means Blended Wing Body.

I saw a show on TV with a rc model of this, but I had no idea of a real one!!!

Nice pictures

I 've seen several shows on this concept. As I understand it, the only thing holding back the design is that most airports are too small for them.

Nothing new here folks......."flying wings" were flown in the 50s,and there is more than a little resemblance to the stealth technology too.........

I would call it more of a "lifting Body" than a "flying wing". The wings look more like stabilizers for the "lifting body".

I'm not certain but I think that's a Boeing project. I seem to recall reading an article about it in one of the industry magazines.

You guys are right, it's an experiment in blended wing technology. No fuselage, less drag, less fuel burn, more range, more people on board, yada, yada, yada, you get the picture.

Same thing.........Northropp created the "flying wing" name, not me. Lifting body was a little too sophisticated for the public at the time and it was the commercial market they were shooting at .........
