h9 edge is snap happy

I'm finally about to get this sucker ready for flight and the previous owner has told that it had a bad snap when you pulled elevator. I understand this does happen with larger extras and edges but he seemed to think this one was worse. I'm making a new fuse from the back of the canopy forward and will probably lose 1-1 1/2 pounds. I'm sure the weight was the problem but what else should I be looking for to resolve this issue.

The first thing I would do is verify the elevator throws are by the book. Too much throw can make a plane snap. Next would be to make sure the CG is by the book. What kind of flying do you do, aerobatic or 3D?

Is this the 120 sized Edge?
Some of the early ones had a problem with the wing, I think maybe a twist.
There was a long thread about it on RCU.
Do a search there.

I fly 3d. I did a check of the wing and it doesn't look good.
#1 the wing has dihedral in it
#2 the right side has a warp in the leading edge, it's small but it's a warp.

I might rebuild it as a project of boredom this winter but I'm sure it will never fly as well as I require. Might be fun for torquing and rolling harriers right on the deck.

I'm going to get the h9 extra 260 for the spring.

The elevator throws are very important if stab and elevators are symetrical airfoils. My Ohio is very sensitive less than 1 1/2 inches.Start with the recomened throws and add as you go along to see where it snaps.I generally run higher throws on a switch just for that reason.
