Claude,
Don't worry about your english. It is a lot better than my french. That is nice work. I have done all mine on an old atlas lathe which to me is a lot of fun. Since I got my 2038's and a turbine I can now turn the diffuser and ngv down to size. I also have almost completed a mount for a vacuum cleaner motor for my attachment I made. It is ball bearing and I also put a pulley and bearing on the output side to help with the side thrust from the belt. My original is to slow and leaves cutting marks but this I hope will get rid of them. Just have to skim a few thou off and will be in business. If it works I will post a picture and maybe a diagram for the home guy like me. Making the attachments and tools for everything is another part I enjoy.
Andrew,
I was told to find a light job, which I did in a petrocan outlet. Worked there for 2 weeks and this morning at my doctors he did some poking and that was it. No more work indefinitely since I am almost back to square one. I can play with my lathe since it is only turning handles but not to lift or reach for anything. I think he is a little ticked about them for making me do it. I thought I was just about able to sand the big bird. Guess something in coro is going to happen.
John

Geesh John thats terrible news. But maybe with no stress you will start to improve. There is allways a chance and you just have to let the healing continue without straining it. Take it easy man!

At least you can still work on the engines. I am going to send you the Spadjet, I think its easier. You can use it or use it for a template, whatever. I will see how the bus will take it after I get it out of the trailer and box it up. It will take me a few weeks but it will get done...

Andrew,
Nice to see you back. Don't let anybody pi** you off. Your a wealth of info even though some people don't recognize it. I do and am glad to have you as a long distance friend. Don't send the spad out. I just need a set of plans for it. Rough outline is okay which will give me something to do. I have a bunch of coro and other stuff and after this project I am working on will maybe start it for a test bed.

John I was away for 5 days at the Toledo show. First holidy from work in 7 months (since labour day) and I needed it!

I feel like a new man, I saw a ton of friends and got some neat stuff.

One thing though... there was barely any jet engines there! Whats going on???

Just a few jetcats at the helijet booth with one PST, saw the wren kit and the turboprop at the JHH booth and robart had the funsonic. But not much to show really.

I did stare at the cutaway of the Wren turboprop for a while... that is one finely machined specimen. I wish I had a few bucks to buy one!

Your excused but I did miss your comments. Wait for a while and I think the turboprops will become more standard. I think the guys are getting the bugs out. I am going back to the kj's after taking a break and getting a new outlook on them. I have posted in a few places about the plastic intakes and as long as they don't get over 130 deg. they should work. Just have to use the right material. One of the answers I got was on a 2 part poly that is quite hard and you can machine and tap it. They also gave a rockwell hardness on it. Will do some more checking on it.
On a side note how are the wedding plans coming.
John

is any of it magnetic???? You'd need a pretty good magnet to support the weight of the assembly..
