What gives with thier insisting on mailing everything. I live local and more than once I have offered to pick up and pay cash because I need the item now. Not 2 or 3 days from now. I don't want to use my credit card I can have exact change I don't understand. Just last week I called I wanted 4 of those A123 style packs but he insisted on mailing them. Said he had them in stock I just wanted to meet pay him and take the product and head home. Nope insisted on mail order. I give up its less hassle to go to the States.

Well I am thinking Jeff is only set up as an online store and probably runs out of his home Not a real store. This he can monitor at his own discretion. He then can get on with other things like fly planes swim in a pool go fishing just like you and I can do . I know its a real hassle when you live close to the guy but that is how his bussiness is run. Now on the other hand if you buy batteries from Hobby King they welcome you to stop by ,well if you have made arrngements to

Same amount of drive time to a hobby shop in Detroit. I don't want to visit or look around I know what I need, Hobby King doesn't figure in the picture but any one of a few hobby shops in Detroit do and I can use cash or debit not my credit card. Most important is I get it same day so I can continue on with my project or flying. Same goes for the Zore props, I like them and Prop Shop has them hanging in stock. Same price more convenient.

I might try again if things become more accesable.

Re: Thunderbolt RC ????????

Hi
Although I don,t live close to Jeff , I can and do understand .

Being disaplined , and NOT breaking the rules . One thing leads to another , and another , and another , he has his reasons , and I don,t think , it,s for us rc,ers to ask why .

I know a fellow member who has a night club ( yes , that kind ) . He has a good wife , adorable kids , beauiful home and two passions ( rc,ing and boating ) and he,s a hellofa good guy . I can only respect him . But........................... he has rules and priorities .

Just a thought

Michel

Everyone always needs something, and it has to be right now! and can't wait a measly 3-4 days for it.I agree one thing leads to another maybe he doesn't have the parking, his business liecence is only for on-line ect, ect. maybe you should start planning ahead!.....starting with making a public forum a place to slam someone and there business for doing what he does with all his clients!..your no more "special" than me because you live local!! gueeesh! remember it's a hobby!

my 2 cents

Re: Thunderbolt RC ????????

I dunno, but living in Canada with our short flying season it really sucks waiting on parts. I work overseas on a month in month out sorta deal, so that cuts my flying season in half.

I do a lot of business with Thunderbolt, Azure, and Hiflight, they all have been great. But in this hobby, you need to stock up on spare parts. Nothing worse that a perfect flying day, and you are grounded over a few bucks in parts.

Just my simple thoughts

My time is my time and if I want it right now for what ever reason it’s my prerogative. Most stuff is planned when building some stuff like broken props or replacement of a questionable battery pack is not and if I want to choose to fly it tomorrow again its my choice my money I'll patronize the shops that provide the service I require.

No one is slamming Thunderbolt his prices are on the money. The first time I purchased from him he dropped it off at my house and I didn't ask that of him. I am capable of the short drive to pick up. I prefer not to put it on a credit card, I do not use it at any other local hobby shop so why should I when I can provide exact change. I spend a lot of money US side because the businesses I deal with over there bend over backwards for your business where as many of the local ones seem to have an attitude like they are doing you a favor. Make no mistake it may be like has been said its Thunderbolts policy to deal only mail order and/or credit card but I am in the US often enough I have the option not to wait or use a credit card if I choose not to.

As an aside it is well known that there are certain ones that can and do get service without having to go through mail order and credit card so it’s not a blanket policy for some locals.

It could care less what you think like I said I am lucky I have the option to buy from several different resources on the spur of the moment and I will continue to use those that provide the services I want and when I want them at my convenience. When things change at Thunderbolt I have no problem dealing with them.

My hobby time is limited if I choose to make the most out of the time I have and it bothers you all I can say is TO BAD SO SAD ya needs to get a life Bub.

Re: Thunderbolt RC ????????

And you pretty much have the answer to your problem in your own response. His time is his time and if he doesn't want to serve you in person then that is his prerogative.

I've purchased several things from him, service was excellent.

Re: Thunderbolt RC ????????

If the business is being run out of a residential location the walk-in traffic and parking may be the big issue here and that would have to be respected. Doing business by mailorder only may be a restriction on his business license? ..Ron
