everything installed. just have to wire it all to RVOSD. love how the OSD does the power mgmt, and I can power my cam at 5V, vTx at 12V as shown.

I like the Fatshark P&T unit. cam might not be great, so later on I might swap it for a Mobius Cam extension.

might make a more scale dash/cockpit later on. or not

Re: PA KatanaMD aerobat FPV project

cam is some CMOS cam by Fatshark. The P&T unit with servos and camera is only $45 at Hobbyking, so I do not expect much from the cam. Might nicely fit in a mobius camera on extension cable. for now i may glue a #16 cam on top of the CMOS

Re: PA KatanaMD aerobat FPV project

cable is my own connectivity solution.

I had a glider crash when the oem wiring conductors separated within their oem cable.

So I took it apart and made my own cable and add snap on DIN plugs. The cable itself is formerly a heady duty shielded USB cable with the ends cut off.

This cable carries power to my goggles from my 9x radio, also carries the PPM from the goggles 2-axis headtracker into the 9x. And further, it carries video signal if I plug it into my ground station.

Re: PA KatanaMD aerobat FPV project

maidened the Katana dna remaidened the PasserX glider today

The PasserX was flying great, except the motor was not. A lot of vibration, then it kind of munched itself in flight, so I got a 2 minute deadstick. Love how it carves through the air so straight and graceful unlike most foamies. I also put L1D audio variometer, and it has SuppOSD with a coarse vario in it also

Katana was kind of crazy! I probably should not have done the maiden with 2 axis headtracking turned on - ha. Sensory overload with the speed, responsivenes, P&T and the pitch-ladder-AH in the RVOSD. I was just managing to test things out and try and make a clean landing, which i did. No aerobatics yet. But soon. One problem: white wings hurt the video link. They wash out the camera image too much. I might cover them in black. An Ideal plane would be a Katana with a dark blue RedBull paint scheme, maybe.

So then i threw up the Travelwing and wow. Just felt like I got back on a steed a grew up with. Lots of aerobatics with it.

I will load a video of all these flights later.
