My 049 and tuned pipe experiments...

Guys, I have a need for speed in a small package! I have been talking to a guy in the US regarding making up tuned pipes for 049's and finally got to try one. I made it for my VA MKI 049, which I also made a header for.

Stock, this engine turns a modified APC 5.7-3 (cut to 4.8 and reworked) 22,000 rpm on mild 15% fuel.

With the tuned pipe I got a rock steady 25,800 and its quiet too! Same prop and fuel. Man, thats a lot of RPM's for 15% fuel.

Needless to say, now I have to design a little rocketship to put this beast into..

ROCK ON- 1/2A RULES!!

What - none of you guys want to admit you run 1/2A's.... Come on now!

My plan is to design a small pylon racer that will do 100mph with this set up...

I think it's a nice pipe Andrew!

Keep up the good work. Some of us would love to do some of that stuff but time is at a premium this time of year.
