Re: small Aluminum welding

So, Friday I went to Princess Auto. Went to the welding area, and picked up the brazing rods. They worked fantastic!!!

I took a couple of old broken mufflers, washed them in soapy water to get rid of any oils.
Used a stainless steel brush to remove any oxidation, around the area to be brazed.
Heated the metal all over, specially around the area to be brazed
continued heating, testing the area to be welded by touching the rod to the metal
Once the rod started flowing, I flowed the metal into the area.

It does take some practice, which I don't have, but after it cooled down, the brazed area was super strong. Worked like a charm!!!

I'm impressed with how easy it was to do.
