CANCELLED June 19 Track Work Day Role Call and notice of activity
Hey friends of Sids Raceway
We are planning some maintenance activity for this Saturday morning June 19th. Tasks include: - rebuilding the last two berms of the "zig-zag" feature - repairing the run-up to the big double (we will likely be trying some new "secret sauce" to see if we can minimize the ongoing maintenance required for this part of the track) - weed abatement Please post on this thread if you are willing and available to assist. All volunteers get a free day pass for helping out. We are planning on getting an early start at 7:00 AM to beat the forecasted muggy weather. Finally as a note to those who are planning on coming out to run on Saturday: Note that ongoing repair activity requiring closure of portions of the track surface will be occurring until approximately 12 noon. Certain repairs may require a prolonged drying time extending past noon. If you have any concerns we strongly suggest that you call the garden centre before heading out to the track. Thanks for your support, Sids Raceway |

I should have checked out this thread before going out to the track yesterday morning. I had the whole track to myself. Track condition way actually very good. A little damp in a few sections but no standing water or muddy sections.

Bugnut, Sorry that we missed you. Canceling track work or an event is always a balancing act between the forecast and giving people sufficient notice. The Environment Canada forecast at the time of cancellation called for showers in the morning building to a thunderstorm sometime in the afternoon. Obviously they were way off!! Working on the track in wet conditions is never fun...... the surface material sticks to tools, boots, etc and makes for a bigger mess than if we just left things alone!!! Watch for a rescheduling in the very near future. Sids Raceway |
