Re: 126" Carden Extra260 / MVVS190 - BBT

My youngest is sick today and my wife decided to go out to some friends for a visit ---- So myself and Caleb went down into the w-shop - while I beveled the hinge-lines, he got into the Dubro hinges, LOL
.
.
.
I just love the concentration. He couldn't even talk while he did it

Re: 126" Carden Extra260 / MVVS190 - BBT

And here's the finished product after the bevelling and hinging

+/- 44 degrees of throw My 126" VW Edge had 42deg and roll-rate was insane. My 126" Extra300 had 38deg and it was awesome. 44 degrees meant I had to take off every last 0.001" from the hinge stock to get the max angle

I went with 10 hinges / aileron. Later on I'll cut these into 2 split ailerons so each smaller aileron with have 5 hinges

Tonight I'll glue the hinges in place with Ultimate glue with the 0.047" piano wire

Trev, I don't have any children, but, I can tell you that when I was Young I loved so much to stay in the workshop looking (and helping too ) my father diring his works...

It made me so curious!!

Ya! Agreed Daniele! I was the same and mine follow me all over. Best fun is when I give them each a box with some tools and paint and tell them to create something in the shop!

My gut is usually sore afterwards from laughing
