EI Gasoline Engine Quesations
I just bought my first gasoline engine, it’s an Evolution 26GT2.
I’m very impressed with the power of this little engine ; however I have a few questions that I hope one of you guys can help me understand. 1)Kill switch. I have a wired kill switch a the front of airplane however I want to add an electronic kill switch that I can control my the radio. Is this switch going to generate noise? 2)Battery for the Electronic Ignition. I wrapped the EI with aluminum foil to avoid noise and it seems to work as I don’t have interference. Can I locate the battery for the EI close to the RX or it has to be close to the EI and away from the electronics? Thank you in advance for your help, Mario |

As a general rule of thumb..keep ALL EI components as far away as possible from the rest of the radio gear.
I use a small micro switch epoxied to the side of a micro servo to use as a radio kill switch. Works well, no interference, although I do use PCM rec. There should be no need to wrap the ign box in anything. Cheers, Dave.
