Has anyone got the April issue of Model Aviation yet? I thought it came out at the beginning of the month?

Yes, sawdust and me know each other well. At least I work mainly with "real wood" and dont have to breath MDF dust too often, yuck!

hey, that IS a low maac #... man Mike, YOU OLD!!! :P (hee hee )

Now, since the good people at Canada post get tomorrow AND Monday off, you'll have to wait a whole 5 days before it may be in the mailbox... Doh!

My buddy left a dozen mags he got at Toledo for me to read. Seems I have to go to the sitting room more often Quite a few jet mags in there too, them turbines sure getting small, less than a pound now! I like the review on the Flight data logger, measured almost 7 G's on a jet flight and a height of 3000+ ft!!! Measures speed too, the test hit 207 mph. Amazing unit, of course this is a biased opinion because it comes from my hometown in Finland! It is www.realdesign.fi

Hey guys, I bought siz or 7 boxes of vintage model magazines (mainly MAN and FM from the 40's, 50's and 60's) down in Toledo, allmost 500 copies! I guess I will have enough to read for a while...

You know, the old mags are so nice compared to today's ARF rewiew rags... back then people actually made stuff for themselves and even did some metal working and electronics work too! ( <-- thats me with a sarcastic grin on my face...) Its too bad in today's world very few modellers try and make things for themselves, as it is a lot of fun and very rewarding. Also, its a shame the magazines dont try and promote this aspect like they used to...

I especially love the American Aircraft Modeller's as they have an article in each one called "for the tenderfoot" which had a wicked beginners plan for either a rubber/stick and tisse, a glider, a 1/2A control line model or some basic RC stuff. Why there arent things like that today I dont know... consider me born about 20 years too late!

I noticed many British mags still have free pull out plans, as did many in the bunch I got, RC Scale, Model World etc.,

Jan,
I am talking about the North American rags... Flying Models, Model Airplane News, and Radio Control Modeler. Only FM still has some of what I would call - intellectual model content.. the other two (allthough I still am adicted to getting a subscription each year since I have been since I was in high school) are basically empty reviews on mainly arfs - which is OK becuase I like arfs, I just wish there was some meat and potatoes content like there used to be, thats all...

I dont have the opportunity to get the British publications since I dont have a bookstore or model shop here in KL, and to subscribe whould be pretty expensive. I do get RCJI and thats allmost $12 a copy. Currently I get 7 or 8 model magazines a month. Most of them take me less than 2 hours to go through cover to cover. I can grab an old RCM or MAN and sit down for hours and hours and still not get through it all. JMO's...
