thanks guys i figured it out the previous owner had it so retarded it was firing at the bottom. had to move the throttle linkage 1 1/4 inchs lower the hall sencer ring in order to get 28 degrees advance now i have power starts on first turn

Reminds me of the time I was discussing a neighbour's old Ariel Twin motorcycle, he said he couldn't get it running because nobody could tell him the firing order. "Wouldn't it be 1-2 " I said, he thought long and hard and said, "I guess it's the timing I need to know then..."
