I have spektrums DS821's in it now. What is JR's digital equivilant that would work well with the JR770?

Well I just read that the spektrum DS821's aren't recommended for heli use. Is this correct?

Re: 600class tail servo

They say that they breakdown from vibrations. I used them all the time with success. The only servo that caused a major crash was a bad Futaba digital.

Re: 600class tail servo

Dont know what the JR equivilant is but do yourself a favor and get a good servo.

You cant go wrong with the JR 8900 for the tail.

The best would be the new JR MP80 brushless tail servo.

Re: 600class tail servo

Thats what I got, The 8900! It was highly recommended. Now if I could just find a used 770. Thats the last piece.

Re: 600class tail servo

To answer the first question- the JR equivalent to the Spectrum DS821 - is the JR DS821, it's the same servo with a different name label.
As for use in Helis, JR themself do not recommend for use over 30-size nitro or 50-(600) class electric. I personally would not use them at all in any nitro heli.
See this Horizon link.

Re: 600class tail servo

The Align DS650 is a good tail servo for what you will be doing with it and it's not overly expensive.

The problem with nylon gear servos is they could fail. Failuire is not an option with a heli.

Re: 600class tail servo

If you cant find a 770, try looking for a Spartan Quark. They are a very good gyro also.
