Trevor,
If you go for it, make the ailerons a bit longer, go further inboard on the wing.
In the last video the pilot had to hold full right to keep it from torqueing. And it was barely holding.

Ya - I noticed that aswell!

In a couple of the comments I've read about, it seems like some people have made the ailerons longer by 2 more rib bays towards the roots on both the Challengers and the Pitts S1 for proper 3Ding!

Thanks

Trev

Re: 50% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - Should I??

Trev....... I think you've already made up your mind and are using this forum as some form of justification. If we all tell you to go for it then when your lovely wife complains you'll be able to say "they guys on RCC made me do it"

I don't want your wife to be mad at me so......... Don't do it Trev.......... it's an ugly plane and I've heard they fly like garbage

BUT....... if you do go for it, then my vote for schemes would be to replicate one of the Ray Ban Golds.

Searching for some decent pics.... stand-by.

Oh, should also point out that one of the planes currently resides in the Aviation museum in Ottawa. Reference material would be readily accessible. Story about that plane here.....

Can't seem to find many decent pics but, video of the team here...

Re: 50% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - Should I??

Thanks for the links Dave!!

Rayban, eh??? I love the idea that the real thing is in the Aviation Museum in Ottawa - only a 2 hour drive to go get the details of the real thing!

Hum - maybe a little road trip with the family this weekend is in order!!!

Re: 50% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - Should I??

Ok... it`s ordered!!

Desert Aircraft will be shipping out the 50% Pitts tomorrow from Tuscon!!

The Modellbau kits comes in (2) boxes, because there is no foam cores with this kit (however Jeff at DA tells me they are massive), so it will be nothing but wood, fiberglass and aluminum!!!

I can`t wait - I`m not going to sleep now!!!

FANTASTIC Trevor.

Can't wait to hear what the wood and glass are like in those kits.
