You're building a Carden, while now at the same time assembling a Kick a..
custom composite plane....having just finished a beeeeehemoth Pitts project....while having a full time job.......and a wife and 2 kids....plus you do home reno...

Not to mention you have other hobbies n interests.....snowmobiling..etc

I'm exhausted thinking about it...

LOL!!! Nothing amazing about it Eric!! - Just a ton of passion for the hobby and building and not a lot of sleep!!!

After April 9th (MaidenFest 2011), there'll be a lot less building and a LOT more flying

So, as it's said - you need to make hay while the sun shines!!!

Hopefully soon!!! He's not too familiar with RCC, but word does get around about that "Crazy Guy" up in north-central Alberta, even outside of RCC

Isn`t that an awesome scheme!!

Now that I`ve seen this much yellow, I`m kinda excited to do my next plane with more yellow as potentially a base colour!!

I just sent Slawo a list of all the stuff we need to get this plane finished up!! - Lots of stuff when you put it all down on paper

I also spent the evening going through the assembly manual I must say - the German`s do a pretty sweet job of the design considerations if you use all the matching components, like 3W motor, 3W canisters/mounts, 3W fuel tanks, 3W servo mount system, PowerBox equipment, etc, etc.

To my surprise, there's quite a bit of epoxy / glass work on the inside, like laminating in the tank tray, installing baffle plates, installing the radio plates, installing the rudder, laminating in the servo-mounts, etc, etc.....

Should be a fun project!! I hope to start into things shortly!!!

Trev

Re: BBT Assembly Thread - 35% 3W Extra 333 (Stage 3)

I decided to make tonight a balsa-free night, so I got started on the assembly!

Slawo bought the 3W servo bay system for the wings - its a red-fiber reinforced plate that is epoxied into the bay and rests on some 1/4" plywood blocks. The close-ups don't show anything glued in place, but they are now!

The kit also comes with nice hinges - they are epoxied in place also now.

JR8711 servos should do the trick!!

I'm just waiting on SWB servo arms and linkages and I'll finish up the wings. I also got the servo leads made up from the ThunderBoltRc.com bulk wire/ends!

Slawo was in the Polish Airforce - hence the emblems on the bottom of the wings!!!
