Just wondering if there is any more news about the IMAC "affiliate program"?
Its been almost 3 years since the idea of it was first introduced. I couldn't find anything on the IMAC website about it.

IMAC International Affiliate Program
Mike,
You your IMAC membership expired May 18th, 2006, otherwise you would be able to review the statement in the Archived Presidential report that was made for the 1st Quarter 2006 and is on the IMAC website under Home / Officer Reports / Officer Repot Archives / Presidential Archives / President's Report - 1st Quarter 2006. Link here http://www.mini-iac.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=219 However, for your convenience, and the convenience of others who are not ( or no longer) IMAC members I have attached a pdf of the most recent International Affiliate docment which I just received shortly before the Toledo show. Frankly I still think it's a pretty lame program. Really, no value added. I have spoken to the rest of the IMAC Board to review the criteria for Affliate membership. More specifically I suggested they consider issuing Affiliate staus to countries carring more that "X" number of paying IMAC members. "X" to be determined by the IMAC BOD. Considering Canada has 52 ( well over 5 !! ) paying members I think Canada more than qualifies already for Affiliate membership. Bob

Thanks for the info Bob.
You are correct, after 8 or 9 years as an IMAC member, I decided not to renew my membership for a number of reasons. I think your quite right.. The affiliate program really is of no added value to us Canadians. There seems to be nothing in it that we don't already have now, and certainly not worth an additional $100.00 per year. IMO, the idea behind this program was nothing more than an attempt to appease us Canadians, when the request for official status as a Canadian region was denied. IMAC is an American SIG [special interest group] under the AMA, as opposed to a true "international" organization like the FAI, and as long as their way of thinking remains the way it has been, thats all it will be. Not trying to raise the issue for debate again, or be a $hit disturber, but just wanted to know its final outcome. Ill crawl back into my hole again.

There may just be an IMAC event on your doorstep next year I have been talking to the NW zone guys (who are very helpful) about Alberta being in the NW Zone and it is, informally. The Edmonton event is on the NW web site. I will do whatever I can for Alberta to remain in that zone. http://www.imacnw.com/07schedule.htm

Is the $100 fee on top of all the membership fees we already pay? What do we actually get for the $100 that we don't already get? Seems to me like a quickly composed document, whose intent is to appease the "Canadians" without giving any added value. But I could be wrong... Sorry for being cynical, but this has been dragging out for a couple years.

Re: IMAC affliate Program
So, how do they presume to control who can register mini-iac.ca?

Re: IMAC affliate Program
I suppose they can't... Kind of irrelevant though now.
www.scaleaerobaticscanada.com is our Canadian SA website.
