I needed something to glue capstrips on ribs,
so got out my Lepages quick-try.
Almost as quick as zap and much nicer to use for non-critical areas.
I got the carton at a mom and pop wholesaler in Charlottetown 5 yrs ago.
An amazing place, also got an 8mm movie projector bulb !
The business has since modernized and I will find out if they can get more.

I built my first RC trainer with that same LePages Balsa glue over 40 years ago. I used to go across the street to buy it from a small neighbourhood mom-and-pop hardware store in south Etobicoke. I'd buy a couple of tubes at a time. The owner became suspicious and worried when I came back for the third time to buy more. He insisted on speaking with my parents...he thought my friends and I were sniffing it, or up to no good anyway...

I recall the store owner was intrigued and delighted to learn that I was really building an RC aircraft with the glue....must have seemed like witchcraft to him in those days.
However, the worst of all was, I got swatted by my parents for making the neighbors think I was a "druggy."

The stuff shrinks like crazy. I took a sheet of 1/16 balsa, spread a strip of lepages about 1/3 of the way from one side and smoothed it out with my finger and let it dry. It made the balsa into a nice under-camber airfoil. I cut it in half and put a dihedral brace in the center, presto glider wing. I attached it to a stick fuselage with tail surfaces and it flew like a dream. When it gained airspeed the wing would flutter like crazy.

must try that with the 1/16 " sheet wing
------addiction, glue sniffing.....there were several corner stores in
Calgary in the 50's where I used to buy Comet kits, and pick up freebies
in the ditch--discarded by the glue sniffers. These were of course the real
cheap kits, but they were good gliders, and I'd put a firecracker in the cockpit
and launch them on a one-way mission down the coulee !
