I also am on my second time around. Elaine looks at my model magazines and says "this one is cute, why don't you build one of these?" Off to the hobby shop I go. I think I got it right this time....

Here's how I do it...
Start your own RC business, then everything that comes through the door is a business expense....problem is my wife HATES the business too!

Kit sneaking

I don't have to sneak anything past my wife. Only guys who are afraid of their wives have to be worried. If she asks me "where did that come from??" I just say "none of your G.D. business" and go out to my shed. Who cares what she says!!!!

Update (wife sneaking)

Awwwww I am now very afraid of my wife. She now has a Eaglet50 in one hand and a hammer in the other. Yes dear I guess it is your G.D. business and I have no right keeping anything from you. Yes dear I am a very happy man and who could ask for more.
(kidding of course)

Method to the madness?

OK this is what works for me! I made a deal with the wife that she could spend the same amount $ for $ on herself that I spend on my models....
so far this has worked great, apart from the fact that its costing me a fortune Sorta makes me think twice every time I visit the hobby shop!
Its sure garenteed to help keep the piece though.... She loved it when I got into the jets
