Re: Albatro D.II

Appears to be all white - easy-peasy. The tough one is the 6-sided pattern in about 4 colours.

Re: Albatro D.II

Not to sure about the radiator on the top wing if its suppose to be in the center or on the right side. I got the plane from a friend of mine and the fuse was primed with white and most of the paint scheme for the D.II have a wood stain and when I saw this one I said hey this should be a easy one to do instead of trying to figure out how to wood stain on a white surface I would do this scheme. I am also not sure who flew this plane I couldn't find that much info on this scheme.

Re: Albatro D.II

That plane looked familiar, I think the pilot was Vzfw Walter Gottsch. Rank I believe is lieutenant.

Re: Albatro D.II

Info on internet says rad was center mounted.

Kind of an odd serial number, the DII was probably long gone by 1917.

Re: Albatro D.II

This is what a guy found for me on rcgroups regarding this Albatros.
This unarmed D.II was still being used as a "hack" by Zentrale Abnhame Kommission 3 (Central Acceptance Commission) as late as 1918. It appears to bear a simple paint scheme of overall white with plain late-type crosses. Colour of wheel covers is not known.
