I find the 4" knives don't last that long so last year I upgraded to the 6" with adjustable power supply and it cuts much better, especially on the wings that are 4+ inches thick...

I use a method that Henry Piorun taught me!You have a template on both sides of the wing. use a drill to put a hole in all the cut outs to be made, Have two 3/8 in dowels 3 inches long , one with a eye bolt that you have your nichrome wire fixed to and the other with a hook so you pass the wire through the hole and hook it with the other pull it taut the wire heats up almost instantly and you just run around the pattern and on to the next!

Brad, i got a roll of Nichrome wire on E-Bay for fairly cheap...

Its a 25 meter roll of 0.18mm, pm me if you'd like some, i'll be happy to mail you some.. I will never use all of it...

This is where I got mine from but I'm sure if you do a google searh there must be someone in Ontario that has it? This is a great site with lots of info and even has a program to find out what wire etc you need!How to build cutters and power supplies!

Turtle deck is cored ...... for some reason I feel happy

Start weight was 69 grams. End weight was 38 grams. So I pulled 31 grams out.
I hate to think what difference would have been had I left the holes larger like the original template
