I am new to gas and am curious the size you would put with this engine. I know gas burns slower than nitro so I wouldn't need as large a tank as if it were a large nitro engine. It is going in a Byron Pitts Special (1/3rd scale). Would 12oz be too small?

Thanks

12 is too small and I would say 16 would be min and 18 safer. You dont want to go too big either since you will be up there burning off fuel for a long time testing the limits of your RX batteries if your throttle linkage falls off or your servo gasps .There is no sense carrying a lot of dead take off weight in the form of excess fuel either ...........
I would probably do some test stand work and see what "mileage" I was getting and go from there........

I meant to add Im using 16 oz currently with 35 ,38 and 44ccengines,and a 20 oz with my 60 cc,and I never come close to running out of fuel.I spend a lot of time at partial throttle when I fly and dont generally do long flights. Whats the worst that can happen ? If you find yourself doing a dead stick or two put in a bigger tank.

I agree Kevin. My thoughts were to go 16 oz and see how that works. The tank is easily accessible in the fuse, to swap in a larger would be easy. As I usually don't fly over 10 minutes (I go up and get my fill, then start the landing approaches) I thought I would not need to go very large (i.e. 20oz).

Thanks
