Practice

I'm thinking about visiting Fastcats this weekend and was wondering what to expect during 'Practice.' I want to bring my son with me, who is brand new to the scene.

I've been to a track before, but that was almost 20 years ago.

Any information, tips, suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Fastcats is holding a trophy race this weekend... Sat. practice (all day) and Sunday Racing (all day). Fastcats is a great facility lots of fun! They also have video games for your son if he gets bored. My son (3yrs) and I have been there many times, he loves it (myself included) www.fastcats.ca

Weekdays are out, since I work in the city, and live in the Durham Region.

Looks like Saturday during the day is the time.

What's practice all about? What should I expect on the track?

On the track is usually a mix of all classes. Depending on the amount of people of practicing there may be down times where there are not a lot of people on the track. Also, if it gets very busy on the track, John may decide to have 3min time limit. This just means you can line up at the side of the track and wait for the group on the drivers stand to finish thier 3min then you can go on. This happened last tiem I was there on a Sat to practice. Either way you'll have a great time and I'm sure your son won't be bored.

actually if we are busy we put a on a 15 minute limit....the slower guys above a certain lap time will got out on the 15 minute and 45 minute for 15 minutes, then the faster guys will go out on the 1/2 hour and hour...i am not aware of us ever doing a 3 min. on a saturday, yes on a raceday if we are running out of time for practice compared to the # of drivers.
thursday and friday night are lighter for practice generally but saturday morning can be too before people get their day too organized

We're early risers.

We'll try to get out there Saturday.
