Do these gyro's actually have a spinning gyro in them or are they just an electronic sensor?

Hey Kip

Nope - These days they are aren't really a gyroscopes at all – it’s an accelerometer. The accelerometer produce a signal as they’re rotated about an axis just like a traditional gyro and the more it accelerates, the stronger the feedback is. They plug in between the RX and the Servo and basically correct any movement they detect.

There are tons on the market and they are incredibly cheap these days the ones I am using are:

For what they do check this out :

Chris,

I'm surprised that your CG is ok with your set up. When I had a camera on the nose of my EZ*, I had to have the battery strapped to the top of the nacelle in front of the motor for CG.
I'm wondering how well it would fly with no ailerons, and a gyro on the rudder and elevator.
