Anyway, I use a 12120 receiver and the TM1000. I don't plug the telemetry into the receiver at all when I do the binding.
I power the tm1000 separately with its own battery.

Then I put it into bind mode then the receiver into bind mode, then last... the transmitter is put into bind mode.

After everything is bound, I plug the tm1000 into the receiver's data port.

Good to go

Yeah plugging into the receiver just seems like an extra step, doing it with a separate batt in the TM1000 would work to, really.
