Judging Seminar -Ottawa area

Calling all Pilots – whether you are a veteran or just have an interest in aerobatics, with help from the Stetson's flyers, Geneviève and I will be hosting a judging seminar in the Primaris Room at the Place d’Orleans Shopping Centre on Saturday April 22nd. The room is located beside the second floor entrance to the Bay, across from the Security office. Park near or in the covered parking near the Bay.

We will firm up a schedule for the day's activities soon but the general plan will be registration from 9:00-9:30 and getting rolling with the rules presentation starting at 9:30. The plan is to get through the rules by 4:00 with a couple of breaks and lunch in between. To keep things simple at lunch, we'll all have plenty of time to visit and enjoy the many choices in the food court.

Your $10 registration fee will cover AM coffee and treats plus handouts.

In an effort to make the most of our time together and focus on the most difficult judging issues, we would highly recommend that all those interested in attending should visit the IMAC web-site and work through some of the on-line training tools and videos. See links below.

While you're at the IMAC website, you should download and print the 2017/18 Scale Aerobatics Rulebook. We will be printing off and preparing some rulebooks for you to purchase for $10 if you don't want to print it off yourself. Let us know in advance and we'll have a rulebook for you.

I will be posting this for registration on the IMAC web site shortly. However to make this successful we will hope to have a minimum of 15-20 participants for the session. Please let us know by emailing your intentions and rulebook needs, to garyr75@hotmail.com if you plan to attend and be sure to spread the word. The more the merrier!

Rulebook and other training info can be found under the downloads tab of the IMAC website...
http://www.mini-iac.org/Downloads

Also worth a look...

Help spread the word please.

Re: Judging Seminar -Ottawa area

I'm working on bringing a group from Sudbury to attend. 5 1/2 hours driving each way for us so no excuses from the Toronto area folks.

For anyone starting out, or even veterans, it is a great way to get to know what it is we are attempting to do even though it doesn't often look that way in the air.

Guaranteed to be a great day spent with great people and lots of laughs.

The main concern so far seems to be "where are we going to eat"?

We hope to head down on the Friday and home after the seminar on Saturday.

Brendan

Way to step up Geneviève for hosting this. Ohhhh and you to Dave although I have no CLUE what you will be doing other then maybe serving Lunch?

Cu-do's to the Sudbury Crew but sorry to disappoint you it's about the same time from the GTA to Orleans, I do it all the time for work. LOL!

Re: Judging Seminar -Ottawa area

Hey Jim: If you can't make the judging seminar, you need to make our event this August 12-13. We hope to see lots of the gang at this one.

Sorry to hear you can't make it Jim! Next time.

Good to see the Sudbury crowd making the trip. Anyone need a rule book printed off?

Spread the word folks, the more the merrier.

Re: Judging Seminar -Ottawa area

Great effort guys and gals! There will be a contingent of Sudbury folk coming but I personally can't make it. I told them to take copious notes.

Time to get the old contest juices going and I hope we can entice both old and new blood to make this years contests bigger and better than ever

We are pulling out all the stops for our very own 13th Annual NOIC (is this the longest running one now?) back in Sudbury.

Hopefully the closer geography (and mostly four lane highway,) will make our friends down south consider the trek!

Re: Judging Seminar -Ottawa area

G`day folks

Getting close n closer

Looks like we`ll have almost 20 for this seminar. Should be a good time!

Don`t forget your stickplanes, pens n paper and rulebook. Reminder, if you want a copy of the rulebook, let me or Gary know before Thursday so we can have one prepared for ya. We`ll be getting it nicely bound and colour printed so they won`t be free but, they will be cheap. No more than $10

C`Ya Saturday
