The shop is a mess right now as I try to get some sheets joined and sanded. Nothing too special here, just the bottom front and rear decks setting up with probond. I find this glue doesn't foam nearly as much as Gorilla glue which I like...much less mess and sanding! The easiest way to get the fuse out of the way is to stand it on end,,,all seven feet nine inches of her
I gotta get more organized with the weights!

Lee,

So when are you headed down to Hog Town.

I guess you will be here for a day or two.

Let us know and we can arrange a Timmies meeting or dinner somewhere.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

For sure! I will be down thursday afternoon so I'd like to meet up with some of you guys. I'll be staying probably at my son's place near Hamilton so should be close to most of you guys.
The build is going along nicely. Got the bottom decks on and today made all the servo mounts, and the sheeting for the vertical fin and rudder is drying prior to sheeting the foam.
Here's a few pics of my method of building the servo mounts I copied from BBW. They will be probonded in the wing and stab prior to shheting and exposed after so the rails are captured under the sheeting. It also recesses the servo slightly which I think helps with geometry.

Wink Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

You better get a move on Lee.

Trevor has half built two planes and completed the next six in his head since you started yours.

See what a combination of youth, Red Bull, coffee and no sleep can accomplish.

Just kidding, Trevor is just a machine and you are making great progress so far. I still can't get over how light the fuse is. Helium injecting the balsa and then sealing it was a great idea. Has your voice returned to normal yet?

I was hoping to go to "two thousand pounds of sick pig" with you when you bag your wings but I have a student tour that Friday morning. Can't get out of it.

I ordered the Graphtech gear for my 260 last night after seeing yours. Looks like a really nice product. Maybe we can try to helium inject the gear also.

Talk to you later.

Brendan

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Hi Lee, did you get the curve or the straight gear?

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Its an Extra 300 so its curved. If you order it instead of the standard aluminum when you get the kit, its an added 100 bucks instead of 140 (I think) new. You dont get the aluminum as an extra though...not that I'll need it
