Making progress on the tail section. Want to bend a piece of piano wire to join the split elevators. Want to silver solder a control arm on the piano wire. The SSF-6 silver solder is supposed to be like a weld when done with a propane torch. Is their other silver solders that can be used to make a strong weld of a metal control arm to a piece of piano wire.

Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

I'm doing a build on the George Miller A-10, out of town, can't remember the scale, but looks yours might be as well. I decided not to go with the bellcranks for the rudder, instead hi-torque mini-servos in each vertical stab, same thing for the elevators. Eliminates any slop, makes any adjustments easy, and gives a bit of a fail-safe if a servo goes. I bought an ESCI F-104 cockpit kit, that with some mods, will really jazz up the cockpit, at a great price. I know of another one for sale, let me know if you're interested. Also, just spent some time at the USAF Museum, at Wright-Patterson AFB, and took a pile of detail photos, can burn them onto a DVD if you're interested. Keep up the great work! My A-10 will be old school, I acquired a set of Turbax I fan units, with OS .46 DF

Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

I was considering the Turbax fans with OS .46 DF's but got turned on to the 120mm EDFs. The model you are working on is I believe the 1/9 scale. I am looking to use some type of EDF 120-128 mm that will produce 8-10kg thrust each. Maybe we can keep in contact to share build ideas.
