Hi
Anyone know if there are "flying boat kits" for sale? Aircraft such as the Boeing 314, Dornier do x, or Curtiss NC.
These date back to the 1920's, 1930's and flew across the Atlantic.
Thanks for any info
Jack

Hey Jack,

Don't know of any kits, you MIGHT find plans try Googling Nexus plans.
I have a few veiws of the Boeing 314 with fuselage stations on the PC here. They're too big to post here, I'll post a sample. PM me your e-mail address, I'll send you a copy. I've been squirreling away stuff like this for future projects (if I ever get the time or inclination )

Chris

Hi Chris
Thanks for the info...
I have a friend here who's building a B-25, he purchased plans from a contact in the USA, also had parts di-cut south of the border, I'll look at that scenario.
Like you, this is a sometime in the future project???
thanks again

For your interest check the Botwood Newfoundland web site

There is a chap named Jack Lewis who sells plans for small warbirds under the title of " Check Six " plans. He used to have a website that I can't find anymore. Two years ago he had featured a plan for a Grumman Goose. It was a smaller sized one, about 50 inch span that was powered by two 25's. The prototype flew really well. I had ordered the plan and then had my heart attack and cancelled the order since I was almost cancelled myself. It would make a nice flying boat project without being a huge undertaling. I remember he used to live in Mechanicsburg Virginia. It would be a nice learning project before attempting a big one. I wish I could find him again. His warbird plans were ideal for the scale combat I used to fly and his planes flew great............Good Luck with whatever project you decide upon, the big flying boats were wonderful aircraft.

Google Ivan Pettigrew
He sells plans for E-powered flying boats, 75 plus inch wingspans.
I just purchased a set for the Grumman Albatros, nice plans.
Now I'm looking for the Canadair CL 215.
Anyone have any plans for this?

Hi Brian,

About 10 years ago, a good friend and fellow club member built a 215 from plans, he had a pair of TT46's in it I beleive. I don't recall who's plans they were, our friend passed away a few years after. I'll ask around and see if any of the other guys can recall what plans he used.

I own the Smaller Short Solent, and the MiniCat. I can say that they are both great flyer's. My friend has the Martin Mars and Big Cat and my father has the Bigger Sealand. Also they are great flyer's. You really can't go wrong with Ivan's Planes.
