I don't empty a hole can on the hinges!!! - just enough to coat the plastic on hinges so the Probond won't stick to the wood. With the little pen I use, you can get very accurate and never touch the wood.

Much easier than dipping in wax, etc!

By all means ..This scheme will lend itself to many different color combos and look great

But, as always we have different tastes in sugar

Can't wait to see your plane get started

Re: 126" Carden Extra 300 - BBT - Build Thread

The Durant on the ailerons got finished up this afternoon, so time to move onto the anti-rotation pins on the wings.

I followed the procedure outlined by Walt on FG and it worked flawlessly and produced a super clean install. I'll document it, so that those that haven't read Walt's current 40% Carden build are up to speed.

First step was to drill 3/8" holes in the fuse sheeting in a convenient place. I really like using Forstner bits because they produce such a clean cut. I then passed a 3/8" dowl through both sides and made sure it was perfectly parallel with the wing tube (needs to be parallel so that the pin slides into the future socket without binding).

I also got a 2ft length of 3/8 Stainless Steel tubing (instrument tubing from work!!) and cut teeth into the end of it with my dremel. Walt uses copper tubing, but I had this easily avialable so I went with SS.
