Danger - hobby king transmitter mitt heater

BE AWRE that the electric transmitter mitt heater pads sold by Hobby King may run away and burn you. I received mine this week and tested them on the bench. All seemed ok. On my first field run, with the pads in my RaydioWarm transmitter mitt and with the thermistor positioned on the pad, the elements burned through the pad singed my mitt and singed the backs of my hands. The thermostat was set at the very bottom.
This was on 3s which is supposed to be in range for this device. The guys on 2s had no issues other than having to be turned on full range.

As the devices are posted to 12v and a charged 3S is 12.6 , I fear this difference may be critical.

Re: Danger - hobby king transmitter mitt heater

Those heater pads are meant to be used by car guys to preheat tires. Most cars typically run on 2S so perhaps it is just to much power on 3S.

Gee, and I was considering buying a set. Maybe I'll just go with "HotShots" instead.

Re: Danger - hobby king transmitter mitt heater

Definately stick to 2S. It works very well in that mode. I tried 3S at first & it got way too hot very quickly!
