NCFR 2013 Regional Points

The NCFR Finals turned into a one day event due to low numbers and Mike has already awarded the NCFR Regional plaques last night at the contest.

I hope I'm not jumping the gun here but unless some of the second place people flew at the finals we have few Canadians walking away with WOOD.

Prior to yesterdays Finals here are the skillfull few:

BASIC - Peters Jack, Ariel 4954.36 Points = 1st Place (Automatic move up to Sportsman for 2014)
BASIC - Boissonneault, Gaston 4726.20 Points = 3rd Place (Automatic move up to Sportsman for 2014)
INTERMEDIATE - Teeter, Bill 4786.78 Points = 2nd Place
ADVANCED - Mailloux, Bryan 4907.47 Points = 3rd Place
UNLIMITED - Kristensen, Ivan 4992.70 Points = 2nd Place

CONGRATS GUYS & GIRL!

Like I said this may change once results are posted for the contest but Ihave my fingers crossed!

Re: NCFR 2013 Regional Points

Thanks Jim - I have no idea if 2nd and 3rd get wood or not. In my case I only managed to place higher than Rob because I flew in one more contest over the summer or he surely would have made second. I understand that Mr. Edwards is quite an IMAC machine in Intermediate.

Re: NCFR 2013 Regional Points

1st threw 3rd do get awards. Very similar to our Ontario points race. Contest directors send in a couple bucks per pilot to help fund this. Congrats to all.

Thanks Bryan for the clarification re who gets wood. And congrats to Ivan for the seniors placing also.

Unfortunately the recording of seniors points seems a little hit and miss, I flew 5 contests and the points were recorded for Jackson and NOIC but not for Chatham, Stoney Creek or Flying Tigers so I don't know where I would have ended up ... maybe just in the old folks home LOL.

My fault for not raising this sooner as I don't worry much about the seniors thing.... unless I get 10% off on a new plane of course.....

Jim - based on what I see on FG I think Ron Freeman may have flown this weekend and was the only one in Intermediate, if that is the case he will jump ahead of me into second.

Hey Jim, why do Basic pilots have to move up?

Rob,

IMAC Rules.

If you place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Basic in REgional Standings it is an Automatic move up.

That's why I had to move from Basic to Sportsman in 2010 because I was 3rd in Basic for the Regional Points.

They look at it this way... If you accumulate enough points for 1st through 3rd they you have been competing a lot and it's time to move up. In the US they realy treat Basic as an ENTRY Level, the come out and try it class and if you become interested then move onto Sportsman.

Re: NCFR 2013 Regional Points

Actually read 9.3 in the sa rules. 5 wins then move up.

That's what I thought as well Brian.

I may have missed it but I didn't see anything listed for the regional points in the sa rule book.

Re: NCFR 2013 Regional Points

Plaque recipients - Ariel, Gaston, Ivan

Mike Karnes was in touch with me looking for a way to simplify distribution of the plaques to the Canadian recipients. I volunteered to help him out and so he is going to ship them all to me and then I will ensure that they get to you.

He will ship them in the next week and it may take a few weeks for them to arrive at my place.

Please PM me with your email address such that I have a way to contact you directly once the plaques arrive.

Ivan - I will call you and deliver yours directly to you since you are so close to me.

Gaston - I will try to arrange a way to get the plaque to you if you or any of our good Sudbury friends have to make the trip south I may find a way to get them to deliver it to the north. We will work on that, and if all else fails we will use Canada Post.

Ariel / Bevon - will find a way to get yours over to the other side of Toronto or meet you half way some day after the plaque arrives.

Congratulations to all of you for a successful year.
