I can hold up to 1/4 scale with out any problem as built. I just move the safety chain out a few links to open the "Jaws". Make sure you cut the bolts off flush with the lock nut. I scratch a couple of cockpits before I realized my error.

Thanks for the heads up Jim, I will do that. I have one fuselage now (35% plane) that is just at 11" wide and the others I will be having here soon may be over that. This is why I was going to extend the one section to accompany those widths at the 40% size.

Question...did you use any 1/4" hollow tubing for where the bolts come through the joint..?? Have you noticed any elongation of the PVC at that area from opening and closing..??
