Picked up a used DX7 Air at a good price but I really wanted the heli version. Anyone out there with a heli version they'd like to trade for the air version?

Re: DX7 Air for DX7 Heli

Waylander,
What difference is there? As far as I know they are identical other than the small airplane/heli icon on the front pannel and that they default to there own model type. I was under the impression that the switches were even the same.Just wondering. B

Re: DX7 Air for DX7 Heli

Nope there are two major differences for heli flyers.

1. The ratchet throttle but this can be fixed by opening the back and putting some tubing over the little ratchet prong.

2. The top left switch on heli is a 3 position switch for nor/idle1/idle2 while on air it's rudder/flap i believe.

The first I can fix the second I can't.

Re: DX7 Air for DX7 Heli

Thanks for the info I was almost talked into an air version by the hobby store because the only difference was the rachet and it is removable. My heli version does have a three position toggle on left top.
Good Luck

1. The DX7 comes with an alternate metal spring that is smooth, not ratcheted.

2. Move the switches where you want them.

Re: DX7 Air for DX7 Heli

Thanks but... I'd rather have the labels correct as well so that if someone else was to ever use it they don't get confused.

If not then I can get by with it.
