I got the yellow and blue paint rough sanded to 800 grit!

The lower cowl, pants, LG, cuffs, spinner have been sanded / masked and ready for silver tonight

Should be the last night of painting if all goes well!!! - Then just a sand to 1000grit and the clearing process

Looks awesome Trevor. I am just using a cheap trim gun from the auto paint place. I wonder if maybe I should upgrade. What were you using in the first place.
Also, mine is a syphon feed as opposed to the gravity. Is gravity feed better?

Look forward to seeing it with the clear coat.

Hey Jason! My original gun was from Princess Auto and was $70.00. This new one was about $290.00 and is gravity feed with a 1.2mm needle.

I'm no expert on guns, but it made a massive difference for me!!!! Unfortunately I couldn't even tell you which type is better, LOL!

Hmm, I confess I don't think my gun even cost 70. Perhaps time for an upgrade.
Its hard to tell from the pic. Is that a ProTec 2550 Minigun?

Having just done a bit of reading it sounds like gravity is the way to go. Uses less airpressure apparently.

That's the one, Jason!!

That's what I heard about gravity feed, but honestly don't know if it really matters!

I also bought a really nice Devillbis pressure reg and run mine at 24psi!

Thanks Trevor, and just curious why you are have the clearcoat done by the painter. Is that part more difficult to spray or is it convenience?
Like I said my Cuda was done without a clear coat and was pretty good but having seen the depth of the ones with a clear coat I may give it a try.

I was going to get the painter to do the clearcoat because it is the most critical... But now that I'm comfortable with painting, I'll be doing it myself

Re: 124" Carden PRO - Extra 300 Special / DA200 - BBT

Got the aluminum painted on the lower cowl and sanded and resprayed all the other components to a gloss finish

The Painting is DONE ---- I'm going to let everything cure for a full 24h and will sand to 1000grit and start the clearing process
