Cheap Chinese knock-offs, right :

Any comments or experience with these?

One fellow had a DL 50 at the SA Nats and at first blush it seemed every bit as good as a DA50.

Bought a DL50 to try out. Have flown with many gas engines. Presently run a ZDZ 50 in my extra.
The DL 50 looks exactly like the DA50 sans polished crankcase.
Same dimensions and 4 bolt prop mount.
My ZDZ has been running flawlessly for 3 seasons now.
The DL50 was mounted on my stinger as a test plane. Out of the box it started easily, 4 flips. full choke, ignition on, full throttle, flip hard till it pops. Then go no choke. 1 click of throttle and it generally aterts with 2 flips. More like prop slaps.
The carb settings were a little rich but perfect for the first tank. second tank I took off and flew, seemed a little richer in the air then on the ground. Engine never died though. Leaned the bottom 1/8 and top 1/8 turns and continued flying. Tons of power. More than afterr 4 tanks on ashless non synthetic than my ZDZ well broke in and running Synthetic,

ZDZ turns 22X8 MSC at 6500 with an inverted wraparound pits muffler.
DL50 same prop still new doing 6800 with stock sidemount muffler. (less restriction)
Hate to say it but I payed almost 1/2 the price of my ZDZ and the Chineese knock off is great. It uses reed valve rear induction as compared to ZDZ's rotary induction. The DL has a more linear throttle response than the ZDZ.
We will see how it lasts overtime. Every part is available at DLUSA.
Lots of info on RC universe
