Thinking of buying a Funtana 90.
The question is what engine to get.
I am seriously considering an OS 120 Surpass 111 4 stroke
with pump. This should give me lots of
power in the verticle, should it not??????

The power would be pretty good not amazing. I am going to have a Funtana 90 Saito 180 combo...with the 120 OS I would think hover about 3/4 throttle

I think a 90 would be more than enough.I watched two fellows fly theirs on OS 90's at the Glmaae and I was blown away.Inverted harriers and snaps with no effort.I think anything bigger is just to heavy for the little extra power.

I am looking to purchase one also and will be putting my 91 on it.

OS 120

Just read around some of the other boards and you will find out that the F90 and OS120 combo is a bad combo. The OS is heavy and underpowered when compared to the Saito's and YS's of the same size/weight. With a OS91 4 stroke, it would have about as much vertical as my farm tractor. If you go with an OS 4 stroke, you can pretty much forget about any serious 3D but i'm sure it would do fine for general sport flying....but the F90 was meant for 3D so i guess it's up to you what engine goes in it.

I've got a F90 with a YS 110 and it's a good combo. Works great on 15% fuel but works a bit better on 20/20 fuel. The engine is light, reliable and powerful enough to do any 3D maneuver you care for. The only mods i had to do was move the rudder servo under the hatch and go with a pull pull system for balance purposes. Other than that it's great. Some other popular choices would be the YS120 and the Saito 150. A Saito 180 would work too as many people are running this setup however the firewall has to be cut and it's really hard on fuel....but it's got tons of power. Here's a link to a video of a buddy's F90 with an old YS120. https://www.rccanada.ca/bb/viewtopic.php?t=17158

Hey Steve! I'm bringing my Funtana 90 up to the Soo with me tomorrow, and you'll be able to see it fly with a YS 80 heli engine running 30% heli fuel. Flies great, but I do wish it had just a bit more power. Hovers around 3/4 throttle. Fitting it in my little car with all my stuff was a tight fit but it's in there! I'll probably have it out there next week some time.

If you wanna see a vid of the F90 with a YS110, go to www.flyingcirkus.com and check out the community videos gallery.

Thanks for you reponses.
I have decided to look into the YS 110.
The price is in line with the OS and the responses
do favour the YS.
Does anyone have the specs on the YS 110 engine?
The YS site has very little info.
