rubber backed washers

Hi Guys I am hoping someone can send me in the right direction, I am looking for rubber backed washers I can find 1/2" but I require smaller, I have looked at Can tire, Home depot but no luck, any ideas?

Other than making your own, try looking at body shop or factory tool supply houses, such as Lunar or Ackland Grainger.

Hi Alan:

I get mine from Microfasteners. They are neoprene bonded washers $2.20 for 50 #6X3/8" Galvanized. They ship same day. I like to combine my orders with some socket head servo screws or 4-40 socket head screws. They put them in a small mailing envelope and charge $7.00 shipping IIRC.

Yup - that's where I get mine also. I try and buy a bunch of nuts and bolts to meet my needs for the year if I can. Those rubber backed washers are great for cowl annd canopy bolts and keep them from loosening especially on the big gas engine / plane combinations. The company Dennis has recommended has provided good service and products to me for several years now. They have the #4 and #6 sizes which are what you will likely need.
