John just so I clarify, you are saying kill the quad for safety.

My thought is that it is no more dangerous than obstacles on any other tracks I have been to and yes some people will miss the flag however is this not a step in the right direction. Not criticizing, just asking?

I ask that racers chime in as I am going to do this or cut down the quad so please speak your mind as it is valued.

I stil think if done correctly and with the announcers calling crashes this should minimize and make a tough obstacle safer.

You could also tell your marshals to let a car sit upside down until the coast is absolutely clear. Ultimately, it is the fault of the driver for being upside down in the first place, is it not?

I would choose low speed high air (step-up) over high speed high air (remember sammy's super jump??) for safety reasons.
That being said, its not hard to make a nice big jump thats relatively safe. It just has to be a jump thats well constructed, easy to launch and easy to land. A perfect example is the big jump on the front straight at Hardwood Hills.
When it comes to big big air, the more technical it is, the more dangerous it is for marshalls. Make it easy, and you'll have fewer problems. Also, the closer it is to the drivers stand, and the more square the takeoff and landing is (you should never lose sight of your car) the safer it will be. Technical high speed jumps at a distance are a marshall's nightmare.

When does the tractor hit the track? You need some berms.

There's nothing worse than getting stuck in the super jump marshaling spot, acually I've seen a third person (kid)catch a 10th buggy in the face at fastcats. Is it really worth risking it .
Don't get me wrong ,anybody that knows me knows I love big air

It only takes one mistake to ruin everybodys fun- i mean it could happen off any jump, but that being said, I would hope if reminded and gone over at a drivers meeting, i havent met anyone in this hobby yet who would not have enough brains to safely make the right decision. Should be fun either way

Fair enough. But those brain lapses cause accidents. I think the idea here is to minimize the likelihood of brain lapses. If you see someone waving a yellow flag, it may make you think for a split second and slow down. It's the morons(they are out there) who will keep going at pace and get penalized.

Think of it like putting STOP signs on the back of junior hockey jerseys. It makes you think for a second when you're barreling towards a hit from behind. It's the flat out retarded goons that will keep going anyway. They end up penalized.*(usually insufficiently)
