What is the story there? my wife hates it when I do it (purely by accident of course ) but my daughter thinks it's cool. Definetely not a "girl" thing. This needs more investigation. I will study this every chance I get this winter. My divorce lawyer will submit the findings

Back in Mascouche, Quebec where I grew up, anything less that 2 feet was called a light dusting

You guys now know the dream job ; weather forecasting. 0% pressure. They predicted another 15 cm today and ....... sunshine

For us on the West Coast, most of the frost was burnt off the ground by around noon today. Treacherous weather these days

It's only an urban legend that snow ploughs are about clearing the roads. We who live in the country know that their true mission is to joust with mail boxes and fill in driveways (after you have cleared them).

How right you are Bob. I lived in Beaconsfield, west end of Montreal in the late 60's and a "Snow Storm" was when 4ft of snow dropped overnight... not 4 inches like everyone in Southern Ontario whines about.

They didn't bother with snow ploughs either as the snowbanks on the road I lived on reach 10 feet and higher youjust couldn't push it anywhere any more. I can remember the local Shell station having a Massey Furgesson Combine with a snow blower attached instead of the thrasher. Wanted that 4 ft of snow gone out of your drive way in a hurry?... Just call them up and they drive once up your driveway with that thing and $20 bucks and 5 minutes later it's all done.

Good thing Mel Lastman was never then Mayor of Montreal... the poor Army would have had to live in Montreal during the whole winter!
