Hi
I just bought a Savage 25 RTR and I was wondering how much of the antenna should be sticking oun past the protective sleeve, and what do you do with rest of the wire, Coil it up or loop it out around the inside of the frame.
Thanks

Hey Tony,

I have 2 of these trucks and so far what i have always done is stick about an inch out the top of the tube with the rest wraped around the part the rvcr is attached to. It really doesnt matter. Ive seen people put a piece of cardboard in the tray and wrap it around that. As long as it isnt in the way of anything and you can get it in the box dont worry about it.

If you ever need any help with your Savage or want to up grade it or what ever just drop me a note. I have one stock and one built for racing. You can reach me here or at plsharpe@gmail.com

Newfy is right.. coil the excess antenna up in the radio box.. leave about an inch ou tthe top of the tube...You want to keep the antenna away from the chasis as much as you can becasue the alloy will reduce signal quality.. and cause interferance.. that is why the antenna goes up.. not around teh chasisis....

alot of guys have it fully extended, then rap it around the antena tube, then shrink wrap it, so it stays put.

Hey guys,

I'd also like to point out that whatever you do with the excess reciever wire....Make 100% sure that the wire does not cross/touch itself. This will probably cause your truck to glitch and you'll be staring in horror as it heads for the biggest object you can see wide open....lol. That's bad.

I have had them tied in knots and had no probles with the antenna wire crosed or touching other parts of the wire? unless your are refering to bare wire??

Really? I had a T-Maxx and i had the wires wrapped the antenna tube (around itself, crossed, zig zagged) and it glitched like mad. I uncrossed the wires and never had another problem. That was with the TQ3 radio too....maybe that something to do with it. I've since sold the truck and radio and only run Fm gear now (XR3, XS3 Pro and the R-1), never had a glitch since i went Fm.

haha.. i've never had a problem with 27 band. i have a heavily modded maxx, big block and all. i have my spare antenna wire zip-tied to my chassis. no problems yet. i caught a servered reciever wire touching my chassis, and it was still more noticable cosmetically then in the truck's performance.
