.46ax bisson pitts mufflers

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can answer my questions or point me into the right direction, i have an OS.46ax with a pitt muffler. I also have the new OS.55ax which mounts up with the same bolt pattern at the .46ax. Will the Pitt muffler from the .46 fit the .55?

thanks,
Mike.

Re: .46ax bisson pitts mufflers

Thanks chuebner,

This morning i went ahead and tried to mount the pitt to the .55ax and no go. it seems to fit but i cannot get the second bolt to line up with the thread holes, seems to be slightly off. Anyone else experience this issue? if so was any modifications made to get it too fit corectly?

thanks again,
Mike.

Re: .46ax bisson pitts mufflers

That is strange... mine bolted right up. I do believe I am using the Slimline Pitts Mufflers, but the same one will fit both the .46AX and the .55AX on mine

Two different part numbers, blame OS for making the engines different sizes.

Re: .46ax bisson pitts mufflers

Here is the Slimline Pitts Muffler that I use

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTEB7&P=0

It fits both the .46AX and the .55AX.
The OS Powerbox Muffler, that comes stock, will go from one to the other also! Now why in gods' green earth won't the Bisson muffler fit both. That is just wierd

Cheers

Re: .46ax bisson pitts mufflers

thanks for the replies everyone, it seems after some communications i found it was a .46LA pitt muffler.. i was able to find a used pitt muffler for the .46AX and it bolted right in. I did order the pitt from bisson for the 55, cause on other threads people has issues using the 46ax pitt on the 55 due to some back pressure issues. Anyone know of this and is it a problem?

Thanks,
Mike.

Re: .46ax bisson pitts mufflers

The silver and red beaver is the proud owner of the new .55ax... Runs awesome, and ready for flight. The second beaver has a 46ax with over 100 flights on it, belonging to Juice by brother who posts on RC Canada. Tomorrow we plan on having both in the air with the Video camera..

Wish us luck!
Mike.
