Very good point. This has been made to those who modify PC power supplies for chargers. As long as you don't open the box, you should be ok. Unfortunately, many mods show opening the box to install a load to enable correct switching....

I am going to try and get a photo of the label on this thing tonight at work. I had an electrician at work tell me its capable of 104 amps. The outlets for the DC are quite large. It was made by a company called "______ Magnetics". I can't remember the first part of the name. The other thing that bothers me is the DC outlets are completely exposed. They are not tucked into any kind of plastic cover or shielding. Keep in mind this is for industrial purposes. If I get to bring it home I will mount the whole thing inside another box with strain reliefs on the wires and a switch. Probably put a second fan in there as well.

Its 1400+ W output so I would use 12G wire at least or bigger (10G) and 4-6mm gold plated bullet connectors for connection to your chargers.....thats assuming you will use all that power

If it can do the 104A continuously, a number of power supplies will only do 50% of their rating continuously, then you can charge some serious packs....like 6 10s 5Ah lipos Sweet, my kinda power

I'm not sure but I think that:

Before you go hooking up your 12 volt charger to it, you might want to be sure that it is a regulated power supply.

I believe that issue is raised in the manual for the Triton charger.

Cheers

Sounds like I will need to make contact with the manufacturing company and request the pertinent information. Assuming they are still in existance.

How can I tell if it is a regulated power supply?

I do think that is the company. How did you find them so fast? Did you already know about them? Makes me wish I knew the model number so I could look up the specifications.

I just finished going through some of their site and I am sure they are the manufacturer as I was able to find a picture of a power supply on their site that looks axactly the same as the one I have at work. It was just a photo and there was no part number next to it.

The question is not as simple as "is it regulated" but, "how well is it regulated".

Hopefully you can find the specs.
If not, the best option would be to borrow a scope and check it under load.

Actually I might know someone with a scope and I need to make a trip over there anyways to deliver some lights for his shop and return a transmitter tray I borrowed. Maybe I will have it at home by then a I can just bring it over.

How's your schedule Jim M.?
