and Buffy is right on about being able to quickly look up to find the plane LOS and switch back to the monitor. More importantly it is easy to look and check the landing area is clear before landing, then switch back to the monitor for the final approach. That is much harder, pretty much impossible to do with goggles. (And you cannot see people on the ground from the link when flying FPV.)

Re: Help With My First FPV Setup

Just out of curiosity what will the whole package end up costing you?
You can PM me if you like. I'm interested in getting into this also.

Thanks,
\Randy

Re: Help With My First FPV Setup

this is how it starts... LOS flying is a gateway drug... it just leads to FPV

This is exactly what I was thinking when I decided to not get goggles yet. I figured it would be much easier and less stressful to learn with a screen since I can simple look up at my plane when I feel the need to.

Re: Help With My First FPV Setup

easy now

won't take long and FPV will become swamped, literally. These are the glory days - nobody shooting you down when they fire up their video ... because there isn't another FPVer in the entire city right now.

Of course in 10 years the new glory days will come along when we all ride on a cloud of networked Hi power Wifi HD links.

Re: Help With My First FPV Setup

Got my Foxtech FPV combo pack today!

I have not tested it yet. All looks good, no visual damage.

There is a part missing! I ordered the 3 way cam switcher. They forgot to pack it I guess! I sent them an e-mail. I hope to hear from them soon.

Re: Help With My First FPV Setup

I was curious to see how YouTube would effect the 4 settings of recording available in the Foxtech V3 camera. It is an overcast day, so I couldn't get a high to low light example. There are many other examples on Vimeo and YouTube already, check them out for that. I decided to post the links here in case anyone is interested.

It helped me confirm that I will be recording in the 1080p mode!!

Don't forget to watch them in full screen at the highest resolution possible for each video.
