My first Vmar (a word of warning).

Richmond RC couldn't get motivated to even reply to me about my concerns; so here they are in public.

I bought a Vmar Apache III; high wing 40 size trainer, OS 46 LA, and a computer radio last year.

Wheels are too small for a grass field (probably most arfs have this).

Since then I discovered the landing gear was not strong enough to hold up the plane just sitting on the ground. Had to replace it. The front gear was not even mounted vertically on the firewall, bend, bend, bent.

It became very difficult to control when the rudder hinges pulled out, changing the rudder trim. They just look like they are pinned.

I thought I had engine problems after two dead stick landings, it was actually the poorly designed "steel" engine clamping plates letting go; allowing the crankcase to slide forward, closing the throttle (the servo stayed stationary).

Engine mounts are drilled and tapped at random angles (see photo).

It has the absoloutely cheapest clevises I have ever seen, and the pushrods come pre-bent (see photo).

It was a very pretty lane, but get yourself an LT40 or better build a Spadette (www.spadtothebone.com).
